BARP, flying p2p, vocal. Anesthetized under 3% iso for rads. Tail feathers are all just broken, not IB, so discussed with ME that this bird just needs an imped tail. Brought up to Surgery to assess cere wound. Looks great! Filled in, no bone showing. Feet look great, but talons are dull. Recovery uneventful. Moved back out to R1. Plan to move somewhere bigger (probably R28 once current bird is released) and start exercise. Imp once bird has gone through some conditioning. Dr. G notes pending.

Big scab over cere wound, Duoderm incorporated with scab. Intubated to investigate, pulled off the scab and it looks great! small amount of raw tissue, but bone covered and very little open area. applied colloplast. Ok to d/c doctor checks. Dr G

CPR noticed feathers missing from tail - investigated and found all tail feathers broken and missing or broken and barely remaining attached. All appear broken around the same level (mid-shaft) and impable. Must have happened overnight or at some point today as was not seen when bird was moved yesterday.
Scheduling rad in case Monday staff wants to make sure there's no additional damage as it must have been a hard fall.

Bird is BAR, flying in Mew. 
Anesthetized and removed bandage from foot. The sutured area looks about the same - sutures intact but broad scab over are. Tip of digit 3 looks similar. At this point, I think it is all right to try leaving it unbandaged. Applied Silver gel, will repeat this when handled. 
Debrided dorsal cere - once I gently debrided the scab there is a fairly broad area of bone exposure, with healthy granulation tissue on either side. 
Debrided all to get down to clean healthy bone. 
Sutured small piece of Duoderm to area with 5-0 PDS, then covered with Duoderm gel. 
Will try to keep Duoderm on for at least 1 week. Minimize handling, catch up in 3 days to check everything and treat. 
Note: all tail feathers bent or broken and will need to be imped
Recheck in 1 week. Continue antibiotics. Dr Gardner

Brought inside to evaluate foot. The previous suture site was darkly scabbed - there are still sutures in place, but it was very difficult to tell if the scab was covered the sutures, or if there was dehiscence. The tip of digit 3 was also darkly scabbed. 
Bird was not cooperative so masked down with Isoflurane. Scrubbed both the tip of digit 3 and the bottom of the foot. Most of the scabbing exfoliated, revealing pink granulation tissue beneath. Some of it is raw, should granulate in but will need to be protected. 
Covered both areas with Coloplast and bandaged w/ Telfa, vet wrap, covered with tape. 
Also checked the cere scabbing - most scabbing came off and looked great beneath - however, there is an area just proximal to the margin with the keratin that I am afraid may be bony exposure. Discovered this right when he was waking up, so just dabbed some Coloplast on there for now. 

P: Bandage change w/ Coloplast every 2-3 days for now - apply Coloplast to cere as well. Will recheck in 1 week. Dr Gardner

Left digit 4 plantar aspect is scabbed thickly with a thickened flap of skin at the distal aspect of the wound. 
Anesthetized for wound care, took pre-surgical photos. See surgical report 

Bandage change to ball bandage tomorrow, then continue to change every 3 days. Will recheck in 1 week. 
Started on Amoxi-clav, meloxicam.

Procedure - Wound debridement

Surgery time - 15 minutes
Scrubbed wound well, scabs started to exfoliate. Debrided as
much abnormal tissue as possible and trimmed edges, undermining
tissues slightly both distally and proximally. 
Removed abnormal flap. Was able to close the distal aspect of
the skin over the toe at an angle, then mostly oppose the tissue
of the proximal wound. The edges are thick and are acting more
as a "bandage" than as a true skin closure, so partial dehiscence
is quite possible. 

The edges of the skin were oozing quite a bit of blood, although
I could not find a specific vessel to occlude. placed an occlusive
bandage over digit 4, attached to a ball bandage w/ gauze, then
a foot wrap. Will need to be removed and redone tomorrow. Dr
